June CoP: Sit Down, Gordon. I am Enough.
Have you ever doubted your own abilities? Have you ever felt like you were the least qualified person in the room? Do you attribute your success to luck? Research shows that almost 70% of people suffer from imposter syndrome at some point. During this talk, Kristina will explore the concept of imposter syndrome and offer practical tips for overcoming imposter syndrome and supporting those around you who might feel like imposters.
Kristina Schaefer serves as General Counsel & Chief Risk Officer for First Bank & Trust, a $4.0 billion organization headquartered in Brookings, South Dakota. She is a member of several local, state and national professional organizations, serving on a number of committees and advisory councils, as well as Chair of the South Dakota Bankers Association and a member of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Community Bank Advisory Council.
Kristina regularly coaches Girls on the Run, serves on the Helpline Center Board of Directors, and mentors children as part of the Lutheran Social Services School Based Mentoring Program. She enjoys attending Minnesota Twins baseball games with her family, which includes her husband and two daughters. In her free time, Kristina enjoys good books and running adventures with her friends. And, yes…Kristina also regularly feels like an imposter.
