Travis Kasten has over 20 years’ experience in the credit union movement in the areas of business services, strategic planning, and marketing. As President / CEO, he oversees the credit union strategic positioning, operations and asset liability management. While directing these efforts, Kasten and his skilled team have lead a reengineered strategic model that has turned an underperforming credit union into a market leader in loan origination and brand visibility. Kasten is a registered lobbyist, and is the past Chairman of Board for the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas’.
In addition, for the past 15 years, Kasten is a graduate professor teaching strategic management and macroeconomics. Furthermore, Kasten has orchestrated and conducted over 50 strategic planning sessions for small credit unions in the Midwest at no charge to help preserve the small credit union tradition.
Kasten maintains active involvement in several community service organizations. Currently, he serves as The Eagle to Life Consular for Boy Scout Troop 212. He also serves on several South Dakota habitat organizations that focus on getting kids in the outdoors. Furthermore, Kasten is very active in the Junior Achievement (JA), which provides financial literacy for middle school and high school students. Kasten received his BA -Political Science and Business degrees from University of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, SD. He received his MBA from the College of Saint Scholastic in St. Paul, MN. He is married and has three children.
